Experience the Denniston Plateau

Dennstion Plateau is a must see - the view alone is amazing.

This is historic coal mining area is rich with old sights. Even an historic dunny, like no other...still standing.

This DOC land has been adapted into some of the most challenging mountain bike tracks in the country. With keen local mountain bikers putting in 1000's of hard working hours, this is here for all to respect and enjoy.

With many rides to choose from, a hour to all day there is plenty to see and do. The tracks are colour coded and a full colour map is available from DOC and HABITAT SPORTS for just $1 this map includes history and facts.

SOME OF OUR FAVOURITE ROUTES

CHAIN GRINDER:

This is a 2km loop track that was great fun in The Chain Grinder on the 29th Jan. 7 to 15 minuet laps its a little taste of Denniston that even the kids enjoy. To make it harder just ride faster.

THE PIG ROUTE CIRCUIT:

This is Adrian's favourite track, describing it:
"It's like submerging around in the dark...it changes every time you ride it, so even if you more than once a week it's still a challenge.''

SULLIVANS CIRCUIT:

This track is the longest track at Dennstion taking about 2 hours. A mostly cruiser track with ups and downs.

WHAREATEA CIRCUIT:

 This is a track with fitness in mind.  It starts off on the road heading to Mount Rochfort. There's a steep hill before you head left on to the track this has mud, rocks, and is a gradual climb...hence the fitness required. Once you're at the top its downhill back to the road withsome brown face (graded) drops to keep you on your toes back to the road. This is Denna's  TRACK OF CHOICE
