The Buller and wider Westport area boasts plenty of opportunity to take in the bounty of wild game hunting. Further along the Westcoast, the better it gets. South Westland and inland Hokitika/Greymouth offer absoloutly world class Red Deer, Thar and Chamois hunts in wild scenery that can only be seen to be believed. If you are interested in land based kai gathering, there are a number of species in our local back country for you to hunt including Red Deer, Fallow Deer, Chamois and the abundant wild Goat. 

In season, duck and gamebird hunting is a very popular passtime for locals and hundreds of keen visitors to the region to secure their bag of mallards for the year.
